Foraging & Feasting with guest chefs

We love where we are. Our sea and our shore is a place of absolute beauty and bounty. We would love you to join us around a table at this secluded beach hideaway we call home to feast on what we have foraged and sourced within toe-dipping distance.

A night where the connection between the great outdoors and our plate is made abundantly clear and where we’ll explore the skills needed to enjoy nature’s larder.

A celebration of our environment and what it provides.

A glimpse of life through adventure.

We have some super talent on board the Fore wagon this year and there will be a few special creators and guest chefs working with us on this years feasts to make doubly sure the evenings sing to a very high tune... £70pp inclusive of all food and beverages. Spaces are very limited so hop on over to our bookings page to book your slot.

The evening will involve a foraging walk & some demos to show you on the spot how your super supper and all the trimmings & wild cocktails are created and to talk through some of the foraged ingredients we will be using so you can leave us with happy tummies and some nuggets of wisdom too!

Have a goose at our blogs and forage film featuring our autumn and summer feasts for more info and images. We were joined at last years summer feast by chef Director of The Pig James Golding, Head chef at Petersham Nursery Damien Clisby and mixologist James Fowler.

Our Forage & Feast page will show you more images and info...hop on over

seashore foraging course

To forage is to get outside, in your urban or rural environment, to open your eyes and to seek out the food that is growing around you that you can access for free. It’s a way to make a connection between your environment and to the food on your plate; to make nature into a treasure hunt for the tummy.

With a foreshore forage we'll sensitively explore our patch of Jurassic Coastline from the woodland to the shore; looking at seaweeds, sea vegetables and what the hedgerows have to offer - learning skills in identification and sustainable harvesting (and maybe even cooking!) Have a look at our seashore foraging page for more details and images.

Half day £40pp for adults, £20pp for children, all equipment included.  Head on over to our bookings page to book yourself on. If this date doesn't work for you we run these events throughout the summer months so do get in touch to let us know a date to suit you.

Kayak, Fish, Forage & Feast

Wetsuits on and helmets donned, Fish, Forage and Feast is an adventure and a half that over a day conquers the sea, shore and stomach in one. After a how-to in rigging fishing rods under the belt we'll head onto our kayaks and hit the water.

Towing our fishing line behind the kayaks (trolling) as we paddle out to the iconic Old Harry’s Rocks, we'll begin our fishing foray- before exploring from the water Old Harry's stacks, arches and caves. Landing at Old Harry’s shores we'll gather firewood and forage for sea vegetables and seaweeds, while using bushcraft skills to prepare and cook up our catch.

Spreading the ashes of our feast and ensuring we leave no trace we'll head back to the Hutquarters with satisfied bellies and smiles only an encounter with an environment like ours can deliver. £110pp all equipment included. Head on over to our bookings page to book yourself on. Hop on over to our Kayak foraging page for more images and info.

If this date doesn't work for you we run these events throughout the summer months so do get in touch to let us know a date to suit you.

Kayak, fish & forage

We happen to have some pretty nifty kayak fishing instructors on the team so you're in the best hands to try and catch your lunch or dinner. We’ll be fishing off the kayaks using rods or handlines for delicious fresh fish such as black bream, seabass and mackerel, pausing along the way to identify and collect edible plants and seaweeds to go with any catch we may be lucky enough to hook! This half day adventure is priced at £70pp inclusive of all the equipment you require.

If you can't wait to take your catch home to cook, we can arrange a wild cooking session to cook up your fishy feast alfresco on the beach, so you can extend this day to join our feast afterwards which is priced at an extra £40pp. See our kayak foraging page for more details, images and ways to book.

If there isn't a date that quite suits you then drop us a line and we will do our best to schedule another time to get on the water or check out our calendar to see what's on.

Summer escape | English countryside wild food and photography retreat

We have a few very clever friends out there and this year we are teaming up to handcraft some workshops and events that will really be something super special and this is one of those occasions. Our summer retreat will focus on wild foods and photography and we are absolutely ecstatic to be working with the amazingly talented photographer (and very lovely) Marte Marie Forsberg with Swedish baker extraordinaire, from the blog 'Call me a cupcake'  Linda Lomelino as our guest teacher.

If you haven't yet heard of Marie, it's about time you did! By her own definition she is a visual storyteller and home cook with a passion for food and travel, and isn't she just. Have a goose at her site which shows off her super talents and will give you an insight into her style and approach to food photography.

Marte Marie Forsberg photography | Fore /  Adventure summer feast

Marte Marie Forsberg photography | Fore /  Adventure summer feast

During the retreat we will gather at a stunning secluded beach hideaway that we will call home for a few idyllic days to explore a diverse environment of sandy shoreline, heavenly heathland and harbour within toe-dipping distance. We will guide you through our wonderful patch of wild, showing you everything this idyllic spot has to offer.

Each day will have sections both outside and inside our lovely home away from home during our stay, depending on the weather, with Marie by your side to guide you through capturing those magic moments.

Evenings will be spent around the fireplace, with open doors to the garden and the sea beyond, with discussions on photography, branding, cookbook writing, photography, social media, foraging, cooking and post processing of images with Lightroom. And each evening will be rounded off with a candlelit dinner prepared with seasonal local produce, in collaboration between us and the very clever Heather Whitehead, from the Wonky cake co, who´s been cooking and baking delicious food and cakes for all of Marie's retreats this year.

If you are as excited as us by this (not sure that's possible) there are a few price options from £1300 - £1600 per person, please take a hop, skip and jump right on over to Marie's booking page where you can bag yourself a slot to join what is sure to be a very wonderful weekend indeed.
