General Information
For the more adventurous amongst you, grab your sleeping bag and under the watchful eye of one of our qualified kayaking guides paddle through the waves and darkness to Old Harry Rocks before heading to our private wild camping spot where you will bed down under the stars in a bivi bag listening to the waves and wind as you fall asleep. After breakfast on the Dorset shore, you will see the sunrise on a Stand Up Paddleboard in Studland bay.
You need to be comfortable paddling a kayak during the day! We provide Bivi bags & sleeping mats you will need to bring your own sleeping bags. An exped style breakfast is included.
As darkness descends you will be briefed on the evening’s kayaking adventure, glowsticks will be snapped and head torches lit up. Our kayaking guides will share the dark art of night navigation!
Join this overnight kayaking mini expedition in Dorset to immerse yourself in nature, embrace the wilderness, brush up on your kayaking skills and learn new ones as we explore Old Harry Rocks by nightfall
You don’t need to be an expert kayaker however we do require that you have some level of experience and are able to control a kayak confidently. If you have never been in a kayak before you can try our 2 hour or half day kayak tours first.

Itinerary
- Unless we tell you something else all of our overnight kayaking sessions run from our Hutquarters on Middle Beach in Studland.
- Please arrive at our base in the car park 10 minutes before your adventure begins to ensure a savvy start as we, unfortunately, can’t hold the session if you are late
- You will need to be ready in your swimwear for a swift change into wetsuits.
- After a quick change, you will make your way down to our beach hut down on the beach.
- After a short safety briefing, you will kayak out by moonlight to explore the majestic Old Harry Rocks. We hug the coastline and stay in mostly shallow water all the way. At Old Harry, we enter deeper water and explore the cliffs and sea stacks further. This trip is run in double sit on top kayaks, you will be sharing. Depending on the group size we may be able to allocate a single but we can’t guarantee this and can’t provide an answer on this prior.
- This special experience will include the following;
One night guided kayaking along the Jurassic World Heritage Coast to explore Old Harry Rocks by moonlight.
A unique opportunity to enjoy one-night wild bivy camping at our exclusive private site in Studland.
Exped style Breakfast.
An early bird Sup session to enjoy the peace and serenity of Studland beach by sunrise.
What To Bring
- You will need to bring footwear (old trainers or aqua shoes do just the job).
- You will need to wear your swimming cossie or shorts underneath our wetsuits. Make sure you bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a change of clothes, a towel and a water bottle to stay hydrated.
- In winter you will need to wear a base layer under our wetsuit (manmade fabric as cotton will retain water).
- Hats and gloves are a good idea too, as well as a snug fleece and some warm socks for afterward!
- All kayaking equipment is included, plus a Bivvy bag and tarps, please bring your own sleeping bag, mat, and headtorch.
Minimum Age/ Pricing
