Sea bass is always at the top of our catch it wish list when we head out on the kayaks in Dorset. This bbq sea bass recipe is one of our favourites as it ticks all the taste bud tingling boxes; it’s fresh, it’s cooked over fire and it’s full of flavour. Triple win.
We have started to see a shift in the traditional Stag and Hen Do, where groups now want to try adding something a little different and take away a new skill to teach the soon to be better half! Our Foraging and Feasting experiences in Dorset are growing in popularity and are relishing in taking a step back to nature and learning wild cooking and Bushcraft skills that have long been forgotten.
With excitement and anticipation our fore adventurers arrive at our Dorset hutquarters door ready to start their kayak, fish, forage & feast wild food adventure around old Harry Rocks, minutes later wetsuits donned and helmets on we head down to the beach taking every opportunity to spot wild edibles as we go. Rigging our lines to give us the best chance of that catch of the day our team compare their previous fishing prowess, some none, some some and those experienced folk with a tale of the one that got away.
We always knew our adventure stomping ground in Studland bay in Dorset was something pretty special. It marks the beginning of the Jurassic Coastline, a UNESCO World Heritage sight, for one. But for two, our patch of Dorset wild also happens to be home to an iconic landmark Old Harry Rocks, filled to the brim in myth, magic and legend, with pirates and the Devil himself making their shady contribution to the history of our home. With all this in mind it was little wonder that Julia Bradbury decided to choose our special spot for her first episode of the new series of Britains Best Walks and we were delighted to be invited to join the crew for the day and feature on the program.
Wetsuits on, helmets donned, and safety briefing done; a prelude to one of our adventures that conquers the sea, shore and stomach in one. Here’s a cheeky glimpse into catch and cook Fore style.
