Dorsets coastline is the perfect place to enjoy sea kayaking and kayak fishing, exploring the beautiful cliffs along the Jurassic coast from our base on middle beach in studland out to Old Harry Rocks offers such an interesting and unique perspective that you can only really get from the hull of a sea kayak.
Wetsuits on and helmets donned, Kayak, Fish, Forage and Feast is an adventure and a half that over a day conquers the sea, shore and stomach in one. After a how-to in rigging fishing lines under the belt we’ll head onto our kayaks and hit the water.
Towing our fishing line behind the kayaks (trolling) as we paddle out to the iconic Old Harryโs Rocks, we’ll begin our kayak fishing foray – before exploring from the water Old Harry’s stacks and arches. Landing at Old Harryโs shores we’ll forage for sea vegetables, seaweeds & pull in pots before heading back to base to share our wild cooking skills with you. After getting warm and dry we head to one of our secret spots foraging en route, where you will learn the skills needed to prepare and cook up a catch for a scrumptious 2 course supper. (Don’t feel the pressure too much as we always have a back up of local fish for our feast at HQ.)
We will head back to the Hutquarters with satisfied bellies and smiles only an encounter with an environment like ours can deliver. ยฃ140pp all equipment included. Head on over to our bookings page to book yourself on. Hop on over to our Kayak foraging page for more images and info.
Here’s what one of this years participants had to say….
Hi Jade and Dan, I just wanted to say thank you for a brilliant day on Saturday, we all had a superb time. The kayaking was great fun and it was brilliant to see our local landscape from a new perspective with the foraging opportunities just adding to that. As for the food, it was simply superb, fresh, tasty and the perfect way to round out the day. I'm really glad that I found you, it was the perfect thing for us to do, and I'm hoping that I can find an opportunity to come back and do it again soon! All the best Tom July 2017
