Kayak Fishing, Foraging & Feasting | 26 September
Join Fore Adventure on 26 September for one of our signature wild food adventures, combining sea kayaking, kayak fishing and coastal foraging around Old Harry Rocks, followed by a wild food feast overlooking the sea.
Starting from our base at Middle Beach in Studland, Dorset, we’ll take to the water in our kayaks and paddle along the Jurassic Coast towards the iconic chalk stacks of Old Harry Rocks.
As we paddle, we’ll fish from the kayaks using hand lines, explore the coastline and learn about the wild food found along this remarkable stretch of Dorset coast.
Landing along the way, we’ll forage for seasonal seaweeds, sea vegetables and other coastal edibles, as well as pulling in pots to see what we can find beneath the water.
From Sea to Shore to Feast
Back at Studland, we’ll get warm and dry before continuing our forage along the shoreline to our private seaside feasting spot overlooking the bay.
Here you’ll discover how some of the wild ingredients encountered during the adventure can be prepared and used in food, before sitting down together to a seasonal feast inspired by the coast.
What we find varies with the season, tides and conditions, which is all part of the experience. We don’t rely on the day’s catch for the meal, so there is always locally sourced fish and produce ready for our chef to create the feast.
A Wild Food Adventure at Old Harry Rocks
Fore Adventure founders Jade and Dan Scott have spent years exploring the wild food, coastline and waters around Studland. Their adventures have featured on BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky, including Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted and Jamie Oliver’s Friday Night Feast.
Our Kayak Fishing, Foraging & Feasting events run on only a handful of selected dates each year.
