FAQs for our Adventures and Experiences in Dorset

What do I need to bring?

For water activities you will need swimwear and shoes that you’re happy to wear in the water (aqua shoes or old trainers are perfect) For activities on dry land you’ll just need appropriate clothes for being outdoors, decent covered footwear like walking shoes and depending on the great British weather you may need sun cream, waterproofs, hats, etc!

Do I need experience for kayaking and stand up paddleboarding?

Our 2 hour and half day kayak adventures and 2 hour introduction to paddleboarding  are designed to be suitable for all abilities and absolutely no experience is needed.

If you want to join our half day stand up paddleboarding sessions then previous experience is required so book a 2 hour intro first.

The same applies for our intermediate sea kayaking sessions- book on our introductory course first.

Do I need prior experience for the kayak fishing?

You will need to have had prior experience in a kayak before you join one of our half day intro to kayak fishing sessions. (This does not apply to the kayak, fish forage and feast experiences which are suitable for beginners). If you havent been in a kayak before book on one of our half day or 2 hour kayak trips or our intro to sea kayaking half day trips. All booking and info is on the booking page.

What if the weather is bad?

We’ll always do our best to get you out and having fun come rain or shine, however if we feel the weather means the activity would be unsafe we will cancel and refund you, or rearrange your activity to an alternative date.

Where do we meet?

Our standard daily activities run from our Hutquarters in Middle Beach Car Park, Studland, BH19 3AP. If you are joining us for an event or bushcraft this may run off site nearby, you will be notified in advance.

Can I cancel / rearrange?

If you need to cancel your booking we require 2 weeks notice to refund or reschedule. If you give more than 1 weeks notice you can receive 50% of your fee but lose the right to reschedule if it is within the week or on the day you forfeit your fee and right to reschedule. If we have to cancel we provide a full refund or you can rebook with us.

Our age restrictions vary depending on the activity you want to take part in – our 2 hour kayak tour is suitable for ages 8 and up, and our half day kayak and 2 hour Stand Up Paddleboard sessions are suitable for 12 and up. Under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult unless they are joining one of our Children’s Outdoor Adventure Days. If your children are within 6 months of the min age we can make exceptions.
