Where Are We

We are completely immersed in nature here on our peninsula in Studland on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, watching our heath, shoreline and woodland change throughout the seasons is a constant source of inspiration for us. We have designed our foraging and wild food adventures to get you close to nature and to let us guide you through what makes this area of Dorset so special and unique.

Jamie & Jimmy's Friday Night Feast

Spearfishing on Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday night feast | Series 4 Episode 3

Back when the sun was shining last summer Channel 4 approached us to show Jimmy Doherty of Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday night feast around our patch of wild in Dorset and share with him our sea faring ways and we were only too delighted to oblige! This episode sees us exploring Old Harry Rocks by kayak and spearfishing for supper.

Jamie & Jimmy's Friday Night Feast

On Jamie and Jimmys Friday night feast the focus is on sustainably sourced British produce, on this new series Jimmy is tasked with a new wild food challenge each week, and this is where we come in.

If you follow our antics on instagram you will know that we regularly kayak and fish along the coastline, at times stopping to cook up our catch on the beach and this was just what team Jimmy wanted a taste of, except this time we weren’t using handlines or rods we were using spearguns!

Jimmy had been set the challenge to handcraft his own spear whilst we were equipped with our favourite Rob Allen speargun. Off we set on our trusty kayaks to explore the sea stacks and caves at Old Harry Rocks we know like the back of our hand.ย  The visibility was against us that day but after a few attempts it was fellow spearo Lee Janes who had luck on his side and bagged us all a beauty of a seabass for lunch.

Back at base Jimmy made quick work of filleting the seabass and barbecuing it on the fire. With lashings of homemade tartar it was by far one of the most satisfying fish finger sandwiches we’ve had! If you fancy having a go at your own homemade tartar give our recipe we shared with the good folk at Grow Eat Gather a try with our pickled wild rock samphire.

If this sounds like your kind of adventure then you’ve come to the right place. Our team at Fore / Adventure love nothing more than taking to the water kayak fishing so join one of our kayak fishing adventures or kayak, fish and forage days to immerse yourself in a spot of the coastlife like Jimmy on this episode of Jamie and Jimmys Friday night feast.
