THANKQ so very much for Fridays Feast it was quite simply a beautiful evening. The food was tasty and expertly BBQ'd(nice jobs boys!) and as for the magical table setting and lighting I positively felt I was transported though a beach Narnia into a land Nurtured via Neptune and Nature. The very best beach experiences

From our spot on the beach in Studland we have the best location in Dorset for seashore foraging. Join us to seek out sea vegetables and sea weeds,  crabs, cockles and more wild edibles on our half day coastal foraging and edible seaweed courses.

On this course you will learn the skills to identify and prepare what we find, our foraging courses in Dorset will show you how to make the most of nature’s very own larder, whether in the sea or on the shore. Join us to pull in pots, hunt out razors clams and scour the shoreline for all of the wild edibles on offer from nature before settling at our sweet seaside spot for a heart warming soup with wild ingredients to end the day with.

Natures larder is forever changing, spring time brings us new shoots, like wild garlic, alexanders and cleansing cleavers, in summer we are treated with edible blooms and more gorgeous green goodies and sea vegetables. Autumn delivers nourishing nuts and a bounty of berries.  Even in winter you can still forage and find yourself wild foods to eat. Best of all we have an abundance of edible seaweeds all year round so the larder is never empty.

When it comes to foraging, seeing people first recognising that glorious relationship between the outdoors and what they eat is always a special moment. It’s exciting! Donning your wellies and grabbing your basket and exploring the hedgerows and seashore is like a treasure hunt of the natural kind. Being able to eat what you have found in this adventurous way is an added bonus – it becomes about the journey.

If you want to go one step further we run seasonal Forage and Feast events where our resident chef will cook up our foraged fare as a stunning 3 course meal beside the sea, or kayak fish forage and feast events where we take you to the high seas to catch and then cook your finds, sure to bring out your inner adventurer.

  • The foraging courses take place over approximately 3 hours.
  • Unless we tell you something else all of our foraging sessions run from our Hutquarters at Middle beach in Studland, if the foraging course will be running from a different location you will be notified where to meet in advance, but it will not be any further than 20 minutes away from middle beach.
  • Please arrive at our base in the car park 10 minutes before your adventure begins to ensure a savvy start as we unfortunately can’t hold the session if you are late
  • You will need to come dressed for the outdoors and be prepared to walk on unsteady ground.
  • After a short welcome briefing from our forager you will explore the local area for wild foods.
  • This event includes a soup with foraged ingredients. Please advise us when you book if you have any allergies or dietary requirements we need to be aware of.
  • Bring suitable clothing and lots of layers to keep you snug as this course is all outdoors.
  • £50pp (minimum age allowed is 12 years)
  • Bespoke Half Day Coastal Foraging – no min age
    £600 for groups of up to 12.
