Land Adventures In Dorset

Outdoor Adventure Activities On The Land

Land adventures are amazing on the Dorset coast. We’re so lucky to have a diverse patch of Studland for our land adventures. With beach, woodland, heath, and hedgerow, there’s so much for us to explore and share. Our land-based activities include foraging, feasting, rock climbing, and bushcraft, so whether we’re scouring the shoreline or reaching new heights at the crag, we’ll be showcasing the best of Dorset while we do it.

Fore Adventure was co-founded by Dan Scott, a qualified ethnobotanist, whose passion for plants is infectious. Sharing that glorious relationship between the outdoors and what they eat is always a special moment- captured by our Foraging and Wild Pizza Workshop and seasonal Forage and Feast events; where gathering around a table of locally sourced, freshly foraged delicious food is the best part of the day.

Making use of the foreshore, seeking out sea vegetables and seaweeds, crabs, cockles, and more wild edibles, just a stone’s throw from the hedgerows and woodlands where we’re hunting down wild herbs, edible blooms, nourishing nuts and a bounty of berries.

For those yearning to scale new heights, we use local crags near Swanage for our Rock Climbing activities– sharing the tips and tricks to get you climbing real rock, as well as the all-important safety information. In true Fore Adventure style, we include some foraging elements in these sessions, all the while keeping an eye out for some of the awesome wildlife we share our coast with.

Family Friendly Land Adventures

Back on firm ground, our bushcraft sessions, with options for families and adults, are all about getting immersed in our woodland. Getting our hands dirty sharing those back-to-basics skills like shelter building, fire lighting, water purification, and tool use, all of our outdoor experiences are centered around people coming together and enjoying a new environment.

We provide all of the necessary equipment you need for your land adventures with us and have a variety of activities for families, friends, or individuals. We can also offer bespoke options for small or large groups. Find out more about the different land adventures we offer under the activity headings.

“Your forage and feast experience is something everyone should do at least once (we are booked in for our third time this summer!). What an amazing location, wonderful people and the food… amazing!”

Donna T

“I spent a long time researching land adventures for our family and visited Fore Adventure last summer. I never knew bushcraft could be so much fun, the kids had a wail of a time, and thank you for getting the adults involved too. Ever since the kids have been loving going on family camps and we even make sure we book campsites that allow campfires for them to practice their skills. Our youngest thinks he is Bear Grills!”

Elouise R

“What an amazing place to learn to climb. I’ve been to an indoor wall before but this was in a different league. The instructors were so knowledgable and friendly, really putting our group at ease. Getting to the top was worth it for the views alone. Highly recommended.”

Fred P

“5 stars for Fore Adventure’s coastal foraging walk. Dan is such an enthusiastic chap and brimming with interesting knowledge about absolutely everything we saw along the way. I still can’t believe how many edible wild foods we managed to identify and pick. I’ve even found some of them growing on the banks of the Thames. Thank you so much for such a wonderful morning by the sea.”
