Rock Climbing For Beginners – Half Day

Enjoy 3 hours of professional personal instruction from one of our highly trained instructors. During your time with us on the cliffs you will learn the basic skills you need to start to become a competent climber.

In this course, we’ll teach you everything you need to know to get started on your rock climbing journey. Our course covers how to tie onto the rope, and how to belay safely, we teach you the techniques needed to climb your first outdoor wall, as well as the incredible history of the sport. On top of this, our guides are wild food buffs and will share their knowledge and expertise with you en route to the cliffs so no time is wasted.

The advantage of running private rock climbing for beginners sessions enables us to be able to perfectly pitch the climbs and pace of the course to suit your needs whilst also making sure the session is suitable for your skill level.

This climbing course is perfect for novice climbers, or anyone who’s ever tried climbing or bouldering indoors and wants to take their climbing to the next level. We’ll provide you with all the equipment you need and teach you the basics of climbing.

We are highly qualified and experienced and have been running our adventures in Dorset for over ten years.

Our location in Dorset means we have access to some of the most stunning coastlines in the UK and we are proud to share this with you. At our rock climbing for beginners course, we work sensitively in small groups and leave no trace where we visit. Sharing our coastline comes with responsibilities and we take these seriously. We litter pick en route and work sensitively around the seabirds and seals and make sure we stick to the restrictions around breeding seasons.

We regularly risk assess our venues to keep you safe. 

Our climbing instructors are also knowledgeable foragers. You will hit the ground running as soon as you leave the car park as our instructors happily share their passion for wild food en route to the climbing location with you.

Safety is our number one priority and we can guarantee that all our instructors are trained to industry standard best practices and hold National Governing body qualifications where applicable, to operate in line with our AALA license. As a WISE wildlife safe accredited operator you can rest assured that we work responsibly, without disturbing the wildlife and sealife.

In the event of an incident, all of our guides carry personal locator beacons so that help will come straight away. Once activated, the signal is detected by a satellite and sent to a Mission Control Centre (MCC) where it is decoded and forwarded to the nearest Rescue Coordination Centre. Luckily we have never had to use them but we carry them so you are in the safest hands.
