Sea Adventures

Adventures In The Sea

Join us in Studland, Dorset to enjoy a whole variety of water-based activities in our range of sea adventures. We are the closest provider to Old Harry Rocks and the only tour provider who have a permanent base at Middle beach working in partnership with the National Trust in Studland since 2010.

We are passionate about working in a marine conservation zone in Studland and have designed our adventures to help educate others about what makes this area of the Jurassic coast so special and unique through the experiences we offer.

Our sea-based group activities in Dorset include sit-on-top kayak tours, sea kayak tuition, BC kayak courses, standup paddle-boarding, coasteering, kayak fishing, kayak foraging, and snorkeling.

Take a journey of discovery to explore the sea and Jurassic shoreline above or under the water. Navigate the sea caves and stacks at the iconic Old Harry Rocks on a kayak tour, learn about coastal plants on a kayak foraging adventure or join a snorkeling experience and discover the marine life and underwater world or test your balance on a standup paddleboard taster session.

Sea Adventures On The Jurassic Coast

Our water sports activities are led by highly experienced and skilled sea adventure instructors who are trained to work sensitively in a marine conservation zone. Fore’s qualified guides will share with you their in-depth knowledge of Studland’s marine ecosystem and the history and geology of the area.

If you join us for an adventure a little further along the coast in Swanage for coasteering or take part in the advanced sea kayaking tuition along the Jurassic coastline then you can expect the same high level of skill from our guides in these locations. Working and living in this area gives our local guides a deeper insight and connection to the coastline and they will share this with you on your adventure so that you learn what makes the Jurassic Coast so special.

We provide all of the necessary equipment you need to take your sea adventure with us and have a variety of activities for families, friends, or individuals. We can also offer bespoke options for small or large groups. Find out more about the different sea adventures we offer under the activity headings.

Sea Adventures Questions

What do I need to bring?

For our sea adventures, you will need swimwear and shoes that you’re happy to wear in the water (aqua shoes or old trainers are perfect). We would advise you to bring a t-shirt or rash vest made of manmade materials to wear in warmer weather under our long-john wetsuits. Bring a fleece in the cooler weather or if you feel the cold wear it over our winter wetsuits and underneath our cagoules.

Do I Need Experience For Watersports?

Kayaking and SUP tours – Our 2 hour and half day kayak adventures and 2-hour introduction to paddleboarding are designed to be suitable for all abilities and absolutely no experience is needed.

Intermediate SUP If you want to join our half-day stand up paddleboarding sessions then previous experience is required so book a 2-hour intro to SUP first to grasp the basic skills you need to journey further.

Sea Kayaking – The same applies for our intermediate sea kayaking sessions – book our introductory sea kayak course first.

Coasteering We don’t require any experience to join a coasteering session but we do ask that you can swim 50m.

Snorkeling –  Our snorkeling sessions don’t require any experience but we do ask that you can swim 50m.

Kayak Fishing – You will need to have had prior experience in a kayak before you join one of our half day intro to kayak fishing sessions. (This does not apply to the kayak, fish forage, and feast experiences which are suitable for beginners). If you haven’t been in a kayak before book on one of our half day or 2 hour kayak trips or our intro to sea kayaking half day trips. All booking and info is on the booking page.

“I would say that the kayak tour around Old Harry Rocks was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Just thinking back on the calm blue sea contrasting the overhead white chalk stacks still gives me chills. I’ll be back again for more”
