A note about visibility
Snorkelling is a nature-based adventure and underwater visibility can vary depending on the weather, tides and sea conditions. While we plan sessions for the best conditions available, clear water cannot always be 100% guaranteed.
If on the odd occasion visibility on the day isn’t suitable for an enjoyable snorkelling experience, we’ll switch the session to a 2-hour guided kayaking adventure to Old Harry Rocks. We won’t know until the time of the session is the plan needs to be amended but you don’t need to bring anything different with you for the extended kayak route to Old Harry Rocks.
2 Hour Snorkelling Adventure Itinerary
- Unless we tell you something else, all of our sea snorkelling sessions run from our Hutquarters on Middle Beach in Studland.
- Please arrive at our base in the car park 10 minutes before your adventure begins to ensure a savvy start. We, unfortunately, can’t hold the session if you are late.
- You will need to be ready in your swimwear for a swift change into wetsuits.
- A 2 hour snorkelling adventure with us will begin from our hutquarters at Studland’s Middle Beach in Dorset. From here, we will head out on the kayaks, geared up to the nautical nines in wetsuits and snorkels, to investigate the local marine life.
- At Red End Point, a coastal headland steeped in geographical and historical interest, we’ll tour the underwater world. Our eyes will be peeled for seaweeds, anemones, limpets, crabs, wrasse, pipe fish, and more.
- From here we will paddle around the bay to the cliffs at South beach. Here you will get to experience another habitat underwater.
What To Bring
- You will need to bring footwear (old trainers or aqua shoes do just the job).
- You will need to wear your swimming cossie or shorts underneath our wetsuits. Make sure you bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a change of clothes, a towel, and a water bottle to stay hydrated.
- In winter you will need to wear a base layer under our wetsuit (manmade fabric as cotton will retain water). Hats and gloves are a good idea too, as well as a snug fleece and some warm socks for afterward!
Minimum Age
- £50pp (minimum age allowed is 10 years).
- Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Bespoke group of 10 £450
Why You Can Safely Enjoy Our Adventures
Safety is our number one priority. We can guarantee that all our instructors are trained to industry standard best practice. They hold National Governing body qualifications where applicable, to operate in line with our BCU paddlesport accredited provider status and AALA licence. As a WISE wildlife safe accredited operator you be can rest assured that we work responsibly, without disturbing the wildlife and sealife.
In the event of an incident during sea snorkelling all of our guides carry personal locator beacons. Help will come straight away. Once activated, the signal is detected by a satellite and sent to a Mission Control Centre (MCC). Here it is decoded and forwarded to the nearest Rescue Coordination Centre. Luckily we have never had to use them but we carry them so you are in safest hands.
