Kayak Tour At Old Harry Rocks – 2 Hours

All of our 2-hour Old Harry Rocks kayaking sessions launch from our hutquarters at Middle Beach, Studland.

Arrival

Please arrive at the car park 10 minutes before your session to allow time to get ready. Your instructor will be waiting.
We’re unable to delay departures for late arrivals, so arriving on time is important to ensure you don’t miss your experience. We’re also unable to offer alternative sessions free of charge if you miss your booking.

Come ready in your swimwear so you can quickly change into wetsuits on arrival.

Getting Ready

After checking in, you’ll change into wetsuits and make your way down the path to our beach hut on the shoreline (approximately 2 minutes away).

Your session begins with a short, clear safety briefing before heading out onto the water.

On the Water

You’ll paddle out across Studland Bay, following the coastline towards Old Harry Rocks.

We stay close to shore in generally shallow, calm water
As you approach Old Harry Rocks, the water deepens and the scenery becomes more dramatic
Your guides will share tips, build your confidence, and help you get the most from the experience

Exploring Old Harry Rocks

Weather and group pace allowing, we aim to reach the beach adjacent to Old Harry Rocks and enjoy views of the cliffs and sea stacks from the water.

This is a relaxed, guided group experience designed for all abilities, so the pace is set to suit everyone on the session.

A Note on Conditions

In the vast majority of sessions we reach Old Harry Rocks. However, as this is a beginner-friendly group tour, conditions such as weather or group pace may occasionally limit how far we travel.

Your guides will always use their experience to get you as close as safely possible and ensure you have a memorable time on the water.

To help you stay comfortable and enjoy your time on the water, please bring:

Footwear you’re happy to get wet (old trainers or aqua shoes are ideal) we can’t let you take part without these. 
Swimwear to wear under your wetsuit (swimming costume or shorts)

We also recommend bringing:

A towel and a full change of clothes
Sunscreen and sunglasses
A water bottle to stay hydrated

In cooler months, please bring:

A warm base layer to wear under your wetsuit (avoid cotton as it holds water)
Hat and gloves
Warm layers for afterwards (fleece, socks, etc.)

Minimum suggested age: 8+

All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under 14 must share a kayak with an accompanying adult from your group.

If your child is younger than 8, we offer private bespoke kayak tours which can be tailored to younger ages (minimum age 6+).

2-hour private tour: £520 (up to 10 people)
Half-day 3 hour private tour: £676 (up to 10 people)

Group Sizes

Private tours are based on groups of up to 10
Larger groups can be accommodated (up to 30 people)
For groups over 10, we run multiple groups simultaneously at the same time to keep the experience safe and high quality.

Please note: private bookings are charged per group (up to 10 people), even if your group size is smaller.

Our kayak tours launch from Middle Beach, Studland, in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset.
There is parking available at the Middle Beach car park, just a short walk from our base.

No this tour is designed for beginners and families. Your instructor will guide you through everything you need to know, from basic paddling techniques to staying comfortable and safe on the water.

No, buoyancy aids are provided and must be worn at all times. Our instructors are experienced and always on hand to support you throughout the session.

We are conveniently based at Middle beach, and take a short paddle along the coastline from there across Studland Bay towards Old Harry Rocks.
On the vast majority of sessions we reach the beach adjacent to the rocks and enjoy views of the cliffs and sea stacks from the water. The exact distance can vary slightly depending on weather conditions and the pace of the group.

Your safety is our priority. We keep a very keen eye on the weather. If conditions are deemed by us to be unsuitable, we will notify you by 07.30 am on the day of your activity and offer you the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

Yes, you’re very welcome to join as an individual. This is a shared group experience, so you may be paired in a double kayak with another participant.

All tours launch from Middle Beach in Studland, Dorset, on the Isle of Purbeck.

Dogs are not able to join kayak tours on the water, so please ensure someone can stay with them while you’re out.

For safety and insurance reasons, all participants use our equipment during guided sessions, so personal kayaks can’t be used on this tour.
