Our sea kayak tuition and BC sea kayaking courses take place in Studland at Old Harry rocks in Dorset on the Jurassic Coast, which provide us with the perfect location and conditions to teach sea kayaking skills.
The caves that we explore, stacks we circle, and arches we pass through by sea kayak from the water's surface make a sea playground like no other and it's our job to share it with you. If It's a full day of sea kayaking you are looking for or a multi day sea kayaking expedition we can travel beyond Old Harry Rocks round to Swanage and further along the Jurassic coastline or explore the channels, creeks and islands of stunning Poole harbour.

Learn to sea kayak in Dorset
Our expert British Canoeing sea kayak instructors are here to help you whatever your level of experience is. You can start with one of our half day courses which covers an introduction to test the water and progress from there to a full day of sea kayaking and further on to the Intermediate course and then our British Canoeing (BCU) courses.
If you're already a seasoned kayaking adventurer then we can help you to develop your kayaking skills further and keep progressing to the next level.
Half Day Beginners Sea Kayaking course in Dorset £60pp
Ideal for beginners our half day sea kayak tuition course takes place in Studland at Old Harry Rocks, we focus on a whole host of skills such as boat handling, personal paddling skills, basic safety and rescue and wet exits.
Full Day Sea Kayaking course in Dorset £100pp
To develop your skills and confidence join us for a full days sea kayaking which will give you the experience you need to progress.
Half Day Intermediate Sea Kayaking course in Dorset £60pp
Moving on from the full day course you will develop your skills learnt to the next level, advancing to edging, and other skills such as recovery and support strokes, self rescues and perfecting wet exits.
6 week Introduction to Sea Kayaking Tuition Course £300pp
Join us on our 6 week introduction to sea kayaking course to learn to sea kayak. We will teach you all you need to know to start your journey in sea kayaking, starting off with boat handling and water safety before setting off to explore caves, arches and secret beaches. These introductory courses are perfect for complete beginners and a great way in to the sport. We also sell these as individual sessions (£60pp per half day) or as this 6 week block where you will get your last session free.
If you're lucky you will spot Dolphins, seals and incredible marine and bird life. Our location in Studland in Dorset is the most incredible setting for kayaking and Old Harry Rocks provides the perfect playground, our fully qualified staff have years of experience out on the sea and will teach you everything they know to help you progress quickly to develop your sea kayaking skills and knowledge to start taking journeys by sea kayak on your own.
We supply all of the equipment you need, and have warm wetsuits and jackets to keep you dry and snug on the sea. On completion of the course you will receive your British Canoeing Paddle Explore Award and start working towards your British Canoeing Sea Kayak Award.
Group Sea Kayaking Courses
Perhaps as a group of paddlers you just want to improve your skills on the sea but you are not interested in BCU courses. We can put together an itinerary to suit your groups needs, available as a half day or full day service. Perhaps tie the day in with exploring the islands and channels of Poole Harbour or a trip round to Swanage taking in the sights of Old Harry Rocks!
Safety is our number one priority and we can guarantee that all our instructors are trained to industry standard best practice and hold National Governing body qualifications where applicable, to operate in line with our BCU paddlesport accredited provider status and AALA licence for kayaking. As a WISE wildlife safe accredited operator you be can rest assured that we work responsibly, without disturbing the wildlife and sealife.
Bespoke sea kayaking tuition
If you have given kayaking a go before and want to see how you can develop your skills we can offer tailor made tuition sessions to ensure you get the most out of your time on the water with us.
There can be no doubt that this is by far the quickest and most successful way of improving your paddling ability and kayaking skills. We can tailor your time with us to ensure that you progress as much as possible and take the time to debrief you at the end of the day making sure you leave with a well thought through action plan to move forward.
