Our expert British Canoeing instructors are here to help you develop whether you’re just starting out or you need help developing your rough water handling skills. Our location at Middle Beach, Studland enables us to get straight on the water.

Our fleet of Perception Essence sea kayaks are ideal for teaching the skills to progress from beginner through to advanced sea kayaking.

Our half day introduction to sea kayaking gets you started and gives you the foundation skills you need to start your sea kayaking journey. Studland bay is a world class location enabling you to progress quickly. If conditions suit you will explore Old Harry Rocks.

For our intermediate sea kayaking day we explore the iconic sea stacks, caves and cliffs of Old Harry Rocks. If conditions suit then you will journey to Ballard point and Swanage Bay. Throughout the day our coaches will take every opportunity to develop your personal paddling skills and knowledge of the coastal environment.

The 2 day British Canoeing Sea Kayak Award (tidal) helps you develop the skills to take part in coastal sea kayak journeys in tides of up to 1knots and winds of up to force 3. Our British Canoeing coaches will explore the skills you need to get the most out of this award.

For our advanced sea kayaking days the Jurassic coast provides a world class venue for rough water paddling. With the tidal races at Old Harry Rocks, Peveril Point, Durlston and St Aldhelms head we have fantastic venues on our doorstep. Another  favourite location  is Portland Bill and the associated tidal races.

All of our sea kayaking adventures can be booked on a bespoke basis please see the info at the end of each adventure.

Founder Dan Scott holds the highest sea kayak leadership award, the Advanced Sea Kayak Leader and our instructors all hold their BC Paddle Sport Instructor and sea kayak award qualifications plus have extensive in house training. Safety is our number one priority and we can guarantee that all our instructors are trained to industry standard best practice and hold National Governing body qualifications where applicable, to operate in line with our BCU paddlesport accredited provider status and AALA licence for kayaking. As a WISE wildlife safe accredited operator you be can rest assured that we work responsibly, without disturbing the wildlife and sealife.

In the event of an incident all of our guides carry personal locator beacons so that help will come straight away. Once activated, the signal is detected by a satellite and sent to a Mission Control Centre (MCC) where it is decoded and forwarded to the nearest Rescue Coordination Centre. Luckily we have never had to use them but we carry them so you are in the safest hands.

Sea kayaking Courses and Tuition Reviews

Lovely location for the course. All information was provided that was needed. And James was a brilliant coach. I would recommend you to anyone.

I live in Weymouth and do a lot of water sports. The Fore Adventure kayak trip to Old Harry was exceptional. John really knows his stuff - he looked after all the members of the expedition, showed us the sea life round Old Harry, was thoughtful, intelligent and really good fun. And the safety features were meticulous - checking the weather before we left, notifying the coastguard before and after the trip, carrying a VHF transmitter and mobile phone, safety drill, equipment.

Fantastic experience kayaking out to Old Harry Rocks, would really recommend this activity. Instructors made sure we felt really confident despite not having done much kayaking before myself. Amazing sites and to pull up on the beach underneath the rocks is something not many people will get to do. Exciting trip back going round the headlands against the waves but nothing most people wouldn't be able to cope with and the leaders were really good at making sure everyone was ok. Would love to do this again sometime.
