Studland is the perfect place for watersports and we hire Kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards from our hut on the beach, no matter what your previous experience is we can help. This is the perfect family adventure if you have younger children as studland beach is really shallow and sheltered and our location at middle beach is in an ideal safe and calm part of the bay.
At Fore Adventure we use Perception Gemini double scooter sit-on top kayaks, Perception Triumph Fishing spec single kayaks, as well as a fleet of high-quality Nahskwell and Jobe composite Stand Up Paddleboards.
Hire a kayak from our hut on Middle Beach at Studland for easy access to the water, explore the Jurassic coastline with Old Harry Rocks as your backdrop, or just kayak around in the bay. Hiring watersports equipment is a great fun activity and day out in Dorset for individuals and families to get out on the water and enjoy the safe and tranquil water at Studland.
During the summer holidays you can prebook and hire our kayaks and stand up paddleboards at studland beach online through our website. We also have some availability to hire on a walk up basis subject to availability, you can find our watersports hire at middle beach in studland. Follow the path down to the beach under the Sandy salt pig cafe from the car park and you will find us at our beach hut.
Studland is the perfect location to try Stand Up Paddleboarding, the bay is sheltered and the water is shallow so ideal for those with little or no experience of SUP who want to have a go at this sport, hiring is also a great way to try one out prior to purchasing your own paddleboard if you are considering this.

How Much Is Kayak Hire In Studland?
Perception Gemini double scooter sit-on-top kayaks for hire: £31.20 per hour, inclusive of the online 4% booking fee.
Perception Triumph (Fishing spec) single sit-on-top kayaks for hire: £21 per hour, inclusive of the 4% online booking fee.
Standup Paddleboard for hire £21per hour, inclusive of the 4% online booking fee
RTM triple sit-on-top for hire: £36.40 per hour, inclusive of the 4% online booking fee.

How Do I Hire Watersports Equipment in Studland?
Equipment Hire is available on a walk-up service but we do also have the option to prebook hire online during the summer holidays. You can also book on a kayak or Stand Up Paddleboarding tour if you wish to pre-book an experience with us.
We are open for hire during weekends from June and everyday throughout the half term and summer holidays. We do have some slots that can be booked online via the booking page during the summer holidays. If there are no slots showing please call us on the morning of your visit to see if we have equipment available and are open for hire as this is weather dependant and subject to available equipment on the day.
Please note – you will need to bring photo ID with you to hire and wear a tshirt underneath our buoyancy aids.
Are there Any Restrictions/ Conditions?
Hire is unsupervised and you will be asked to leave a photo ID. The person hiring must be over 18, there is no minimum age but children under 16 must be accompanied on the water by an adult.
To keep you safe we have a restricted area when hiring our equipment, the larger range is from the end of South Beach (next beach round) to Knoll beach, on some days we may have to limit this further if conditions require us to. If you want to go further along the coast or to Old Harry Rocks join our guided Kayak tours or sup sessions.
What Else Is Included In The Hire?
All hire includes CE approved Buoyancy Aids (mandatory for all of our customers) & Paddles.

Join our self guided Studland Bay Kayak & Snorkel Trail (1 or 2 hour options)
Start Point: Middle Beach, Studland, Dorset
Duration: Approx. 1 hour
Route: Circular paddle trail from Middle Beach → East to Redend Point → South to end of South Beach → Return near shore to Middle Beach
Best Conditions: Calm sea, light wind, avoid low tide, please refer to https://easytide.admiralty.co.uk/ and search for poole harbour entrance for tide times.
⏱️ Trail Overview – 1 hour or 2 hour timings
2 Snorkel Stop – Rocky Patch Redend point 10 min / 30 min
3 Paddle South around coastline to end of south beach 10 min / 30 min stop at Jos on south beach for ice cream
4 Snorkel stop – End of South beach 15 min / 30 mins
5 Return near shore to Middle beach 20 min / 20 min
