Dorset’s coastline is the perfect place to enjoy sea kayaking and kayak fishing, exploring the beautiful cliffs along the Jurassic coast from our base on Middle Beach in Studland out to Old Harry Rocks offers such an interesting and unique perspective that you can only really get from the hull of a sea kayak.
Wetsuits on and helmets donned, Kayak Fishing, Foraging and Feasting is an adventure and a half that over a day conquers the sea, shore, and stomach in one. Founders of Fore Jade and Dan Scott know the craft they love inside out and have been featured on numerous foodie programs. These include Uncharted with Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Olivers Friday Night Feast aswell as extensive coverage in the press. These exclusive events only run a handle of times a year so don’t miss your chance to take part.
From our base on Studland beach we’ll head straight onto our kayaks and hit the water. Towing our hand lines behind the kayaks (trolling) as we paddle out to the iconic Old Harry’s Rocks, we’ll begin our kayak fishing foray, exploring from the water Old Harry’s majestic stacks and arches. Landing at Old Harry’s shores we’ll forage for sea vegetables, and seaweeds & pull in pots before heading back to base to share our wild cooking skills with you. After getting warm and dry we will make our way to our secret feasting spot – a beautiful private pavillion overlooking the sea, foraging along the shore en route. You will be welcomed with a wild welcome drink and take part in a wild food demo from our chef before enjoying a scrumptious 3 course meal with the wild ingredients you have learned about. (Don’t feel the pressure too much as we always have a backup of local fish for our feast at HQ.)
We will head back to the Hutquarters with satisfied bellies and smiles that only an encounter with an environment like ours can deliver. Head on over to our bookings page to book yourself.
