Join a coastal foraging course in Dorset run by founder of Fore Adventure and expert forager Dan Scott who has appeared on Sky, BBC, CH4 and ITV. The content of this wild food course will cover a wide range of plants and seafood, both inland and along the coast. Dan will teach you how to safely identify and gather food from the shoreline, beach, and sea, all while respecting and caring for the environment. Depending on the season and location, you may discover shellfish, various types of seaweeds and several edible coastal plants. We will meet at our base on Middle Beach in Studland, a stunning wild peninsula featuring heathland, shoreline, and hedgerows to explore. The session will begin with a discussion on safety, tides, legalities of foraging, how to forage sustainably and sensitively and points of interest, including geography, geology, and the history of the area, before we head out to explore the wild plants.
