The Dingly Dell. Sounds pretty magical doesn’t it? For a weekend, this little corner of Lulworth Estate was our base camp, and we can happily report that magical it definitely was. We had a proper wild time!

A Wild Time At Camp Bestival

Wind your way through a forest glade filled with storytellers, un-nature trails, butterflies and bug rangers! You’ll soon find yourself triumphantly reaching our stable door. MoWe sat idyllically perched on a hill overlooking festival frivolities.

This was Camp Bestival. This year, the Fore/Adventure tribe were there with Project Wild Thing. We were showing both small and big humans what we do best with our bushcraft, beach school and foraging workshops. Sharing a brilliant Fore Adventure slice of wild time!

Firstly, the saws, palm drills, knives and potato peelers (along with some beady eyes) were out in force!  Plus with some green hazel wood we collected from over the hill earlier in the week, a creative storm was sawn and whittled up. From belts to bracelets, walking sticks to wind chimes, the visitors to the Fore/Adventure  HQ were only limited by their imagination! However, it turns out kids think pretty big!

Foraging Fun

In true Fore Adventure Wild Time style, in between the carving and creativity there was a definite sea-smelling whiff pouring out of our wooden weekend home! As usual  it was down to Dan, as ever, as he hosted seaweed and seashore foraging lectures! Lured by metre long laminaria digitata and the formidable gut weed (aka ulva intestinalis)! Dan gave away the secrets as to how we can get food for free. Connecting folk to whats on their plates is what we do best. Moreover, a gaggle of little foraging workshop attendees were later found in the Dingly Dell eating nettles and showing their friends how to too.

The Fore/Adventure team, along with some converted Camp Bestival goers, think the outdoors is great for a reason. Thus, when you use your eyes, hands and tastebuds to see, feel and have a nibble on what it has to offer, you’ll be feeling the same.

Fore Adventure Life

We are lucky enough to have an idyllic spot right on the beach in beautiful Studland. It’s where we ‘whittle’ away the hours on our bushcraft workshops and run seashore foraging tours from the kayaks or on dry land. However, no adventure is too big or small for us! We believe that being outdoors and connecting people to nature should be one of our 5 a day. Therefore we would love to share it with you! So what’s stopping you, come join us for a wild time!
